Double-track railway Novi Sad - Subotica - state border (Kelebija) is 108.2 km long. The project includes reconstruction and modernization of railway nodes in Novi Sad, Vrbas, and Subotica.
The construction of a high-speed railway on this section includes a double-track railway alignment and station facilities, reconstruction and modernization of railway nodes in Novi Sad, Vrbas, and Subotica, grade separation of railway crossings with roads and pedestrian-cyclist paths, as well as installation of electrical infrastructure enabling safe traffic flow at projected speeds and introduction of the European railway traffic management system.
The project plans reconstruction of nine railway stations (Novi Sad, Sajlovo, Kisač, Stepanovićevo, Zmajevo, Bačka Topola, Žednik, Naumovićevo, and Subotica), as well as three new stations with station capacities (Rumenka, Vrbas, and Lovćenac).
In Vrbas, a 1.6 kilometers long viaduct will be built. There are plans for construction of 49 grade-separated crossings along the route from Novi Sad to the Hungarian border.
