The project involves the reconstruction of Nikola Pašić Square, covering an area of a little over 8,000.00 m², including the renovation of the distinctive fountain in its central part. This reconstruction will not significantly alter the square's existing appearance but will be carried out in accordance with the current state, with a few functional interventions on the ground level. In the first phase, the existing paving of the square will be removed, along with various elements of street furniture, existing planters from the central part of the square, existing information pillars, and numerous illegally installed cables, wires, parts of street furniture from the existing catering facilities, and alike. After the removal of the existing equipment, all underground installations will be replaced, a new base will be constructed, and new surfacing will be installed. The old deteriorated concrete surfacing will be replaced with new non-slip granite slabs of various dimensions and shapes. All concrete elements of supporting infrastructure (manholes, foundations, etc.) will be located beneath the final layer of pedestrian surfaces, i.e., stone slabs and blocks. The most significant change on the ground level during this reconstruction will be the replacement of the existing fountain at Nikola Pašić Square, a recognizable symbol that has adorned this space for decades.
